Bethany Rose O’Connor accepted my proposal.
Even though i knew how she felt about me, through all sorts of intimations of “marriage” and “weddings,” the walk from the car (to the spot where i got on one knee) felt as long as the Grand Canyon.
I’m about to leave for Malawi for 7 weeks, and though i should feel bad about asking and running, theres just some things i’ve got to do. The first is ask her to marry me. The second is strip every convenience in my life, grab a tent and a few friends, and head to the warm heart of Africa to build Christ-centered community in an unreached people group.
What a month.
